Earth Fleet never forgave Kin Roland’s failure at Hellsbreach. Changed by captivity and torture, hunted by the Reapers of Hellsbreach and wanted by the Fleet, Kin hides on a lost planet near an unstable wormhole.

When a distant space battle propels a ravaged Earth Fleet Armada through the same wormhole, a Reaper follows, hunting for the man who burned his home world. Kin fights to save a mysterious native of Crashdown from the Reaper and learns there are worse things in the galaxy than his hunters. The end is coming and he is about to pay for a sin that will change the galaxy forever.

Our Review

I have to say this was not what I was expecting. I am not a huge Sci-Fi reader but the synopsis sounded pretty interesting so I dove right in. It took a bit to get started, the first few chapters for me were okay, but then the action started, problems started happening on the planet where the main character Kin (a former fleet soldier sentenced to death for a betrayal during a past war on a distant planet) was residing (hiding if you want to say). Out of the wormhole comes danger and Kin along with my absolute favorite character in the book Rickson do what it takes to try and save a very close friend, a friend they hope can fix the problems with the wormhole and save Crater Town. Kin is up against a really nasty Reaper beast, other grotesque critters, wolves, and a soldier from the Fleet hell bent on vengeance. Got to love that Orlan - there is always one over bearing, cocky, bragging, SOB soldier in the bunch and that is Orlan.

I will tell you that this book is, after the first few chapters, action, non stop, action. The fighting, tracking, fighting, killing, fighting just keeps going, its a fight to survive, to make it back to Crater Town, save the people, save the day. Do Kin and Rickson make it, does the day and town get saved. Well I won't spoil it and tell you - go on go get the book and find out yourself.

I will say I was rather surprised I liked this Sci-Fi book... Nice job looking forward to reading Son of Orlan that just has me worried Scott - son of Orlan really..... oh man oh man. LOL
